Discography for Song Pages[]

The thought is, it'd be interesting to have info on who, and when, each musical number was recorded... gonna need to improve the recordings pages too with full track time info. Spotify integration might be the way to go - someone did it on the Cats wiki, not me! Though spotify is very spotty - hah - when it comes to anything other than the London cast recordings and concept album.

I'm thinking that while it's clear that "Rolling Stock" is titled "Rolling Stock", quite a few numbers aren't so straight forward so including the track title may be worthwhile. But on the other hand that might take valuable space away from cast credits?

Date Album Track Title Performers Time
Discography
1984 Original London Cast 2 Rolling Stock Jeff Shankley, ensemble 3:13
1993 The New Starlight Express 3 Rolling Stock Maynard Williams, ensemble 2:07

Fan Theories[]

Headcanons, theories, ideas... but maybe not ships, there's a line! Sandbox/Fan Theories

Who is even a character in this show?[]

Basically.... does Coco get a separate page from Bobo? Duvay has her own page and she's just Ashley with poptarts on her head... What about Caboose? Are there two different characters fulfilling the same role in the show? Hashamoto, Nintendo and Manga are all The Japanese Engine though - the name changes but the role really doesn't. What about Poppa?

Character Pages[]

At the moment we're a bit inconsistent with what info is where on character pages. We have headings for History, Role, Character as well as Appearance and Gallery. The last two are usually links to separate pages - but readers seem to miss the links so we need to re-think that.

"Character" should be a straightforward description of personality. Simple enough... "Role" - on one hand, this would be a great place for the performance requirements, audition call info. What is the vocal range for Greaseball? But it's being used for "these are the scenes the character appears in" - telling the story from that character's perspective - which is very much "the role of this character in the story". But since that changes so much from one production to the next, "Role" often becomes a list of alterations. Then "History" is MEANT to be a list of alterations - what changed when in different productions. But the "Show seen from this character's perspective" really doesn't fit under the heading "History" so... Perhaps a new title for the "History" and "Story" elements, leaving "Role" for the technical side?

Then there's Tickovers - it's nice having one long page for them, but the info should also be on the character's pages. Does it fit under "Character", "Appearance", or "Role"?

I wonder how on earth you change the mid-grey on pale-grey colour scheme? Does NOT work with our style!

Gallery Updates[]

...I put black borders on a bunch of pictures to counteract the previous version of the wiki's software automatically cropping everything to square. Now it behaves differently, and that makes - for instance - the Headwear design not align with the other designs. Is this a problem though? If left without the borders, it would scale to the same height as the other images, proportionately being MUCH bigger. I think I'm gonna have to go through and check everythig with the borders and take them off a lot of them. great.
